With 13,000 students from more than 90 countries, Maynooth offers a range of programmes at
undergraduate, Master’s and PhD level in the humanities, science and engineering, and social sciences,
including business, law, and education. The University also offers a range of international programmes
and partnerships.

Why Study at National University of Ireland Maynooth?

  • Ireland allows two years of stay-back under the third level graduate scheme. After the
    successful completion of the studies, a student is permitted to stay 24 months in the
    country to seek employment.
  • To be eligible for this, a student must possess an Bachelor, Master or PhD degree award
    granted by a recognized Irish awarding body (Universities/Colleges). A student, during
    his/her stay-back period can also work for 40 hours/week.
  • Non-EEA students with Stamp 2 permission to remain are allowed to take up casual
    employment. They can work up to 20 hours a week during term time and up to 40 hours
    a week in the holidays. Holiday periods have been standardised – June to September
    inclusive and from 15 December to 15 January. Students with stamp 2A permission are
    not allowed to work.
  • Your years at college mark a crucial time in your personal as well as your academic development. We have established a number of support mechanisms to promote the welfare of all our students during their time at Maynooth. Experienced staff are available, across a range of services, to provide advice, support and guidance, if and when you need it
  • At Maynooth University, students have a wide variety of extra-curricular activities to choose from. Our Student Centre and Sports Centre provide a base for over 100 clubs and societies, overseen by our highly active Students’ Union. So whether you’re seeking adventure, fitness, relaxation or fun, make sure to get involved in the many areas of student life open to you

STUDENT RESIDENCES ON CAMPUS

The Residence On Campus are available to all full-time registered students.

  • Laundry Rooms located throughout the residences
  • All beds are standard single beds 3ft x 6’3ft/90cm x 190cm

  • Industrial Placement formally integrates the student’s academic study with closely co-ordinated realistic jobs, based on the work abilities of the student and the objectives of each programme. The student develops an understanding of the professional, practical world of industry. The blending of theory and practice increases student motivation and allows a clearer view of their career path.
